I can't remember the last time I sent or received a postcard. Now if you want to know where your friends are visiting just check their Facebook page or Instagram. You'll get a very detailed description of their trips. No need to check your mailbox.
The postcard I found on the street won't be mailed and will be here for a long time.

Just a few Random Thoughts:
1. The days are so short now, the light has shifted so much and the path is deserted.
2. I must confess I am not one who engages in many outdoor adventures in the backwoods. You can take the girl out of the city but don't expect her to hike a mountain. The closest I come to outdoor adventures is my annual visit to L.L. Bean where I can hunt down any bargain.
3. The Bean boot is celebrating its 90th birthday.
4. Speaking of bargain hunting............I found this downtown on Main Street.
5. Also downtown was this sign sitting right in the middle of the street. I need more clarification though. What does it mean.....no drinking anywhere or just in this spot..........at any time.......... forever??? I don't even see a liquor store or bar nearby. I guess it's BYOB.
Usually I link up with Nancy for Random 5 Friday. This week is a little tricky due to some problems she's been having with her link up but you can still do it.
It looks like a beautiful sunny day today. I think I'll take the camera on a little outing today.
I love a good bargain especially books . The boot outside LL Bean is fun .

ReplyDeleteI live far from home, don't belong to facebook and rarely send a sms, I rely on old fashioned mail not to say that I don't send emails I do and love getting them but there is nothing like something in the mailbox or having a pile of greetings from the hand of our post lady on her bike or with her little push cart...enjoyed your post a lot.

I still love sending (and receiving) letters, cards, postcards in the mail.

ReplyDeleteI used to participate in Postcrossing (a site where you exchange postcards with other people from all over) and it was really fun. Got too expensive at $1.00 a card for overseas cards though -- so I stopped. Great post -- loved the colorful images today. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's been awhile since I've mailed a Post Card but I have actually had a few friends mail them to me. - I miss snail mail and really think FB messages are so impersonal.
ReplyDeleteThat path looks like a lovely place for a stroll. Of course with cooler weather I can see why some might not want to be out in it.
That sign is a bit odd. Reminds me of the warning labels that state the product has been known to cause birth defects in the state of CA...like the other 49 states it's okay to use!

ReplyDeleteI did buy a couple of retro looking Rt 66 post cards while in AZ last April; alas they were used for the photo scrapbook, not for mailing to friends at home!
