1. I stopped at TJ Maxx to get a new pair of sunglasses and also found a couple accessories that just said summer. Orange isn't a color I would normally choose but these sandals were shiny like patent leather and I do like shiny things.
2. Oh, those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer........... love to relax in the shade of the garden with a good book and a cold drink.
3. On a whim today I decided to get a haircut - the shortest haircut I've had in over 10 years. I intended to just get a trim but I guess I had that summer feeling. They say change is good. I hope I still feel that way tomorrow.
4. One of the best things about summer is the selection of fruits and vegetables. There were some sweet looking strawberries at the farm stand today.
5. Things slow down in the summer so there's plenty of time to stop and smell the roses.
Each fairy breath of summer
as it blows with loveliness,
inspires the blushing rose.

Visiting with Nancy for Random 5 Friday and Kim for Friday Finds.
Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteThe last few books I have read have been really good. I get so caught up in the characters and story!
I am growing my hair out. This is the longest I have had it ... ever. The next closest was when I was a Freshman in HS. It's fun and kind of a pain too.
I wish we had a local Farmer's Market! I agree, nothing says summer like garden fresh fruits and vegetables.
Have a wonderful weekend.
I love your bright and cheerful images!
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with the postcard - and I love TJ Maxx! It is the store I miss most living in Singapore.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rose, love your idea of sitting in that pretty local with a book, move over and make room. Cute summery pics!

Love your orange sandals -- you are all set for summer. Lovely shots and especially like the postcard frame. I got my hair cut a little shorter this time, too. Don't worry -- it grows out! :D :D The strawberries look delicious. I haven't seen any at the Farmers Market, but will look on Saturday -- they have had peaches. YUM! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteJust bought me some strawberries Wednesday...haven't got into them yet, but intend to make a fruit salad.
ReplyDeleteHair cut??? Maybe it's Sassy and Fun???
ReplyDeleteYour photos are terrific.
Happy Summer,

I love your pictures and your thoughts. Our strawberries are gone already but I do take time every day to stop and smell the roses. We all should do that.

I've been asking my husband about buying some Adirondack chairs. They look so comfortable and I do love to read :) Someone is opening a fruit and veggie stand down the road from us this coming week and I can't wait to see what goodies they have!
