Are You Ready?

Everyone I meet asks, "Are you ready for Christmas?".  In my head I'm thinking I've got plenty of time.  In reality, I don't.  At least we have our tree up and that's a major accomplishment.  I spent more time this week taking pictures than I spent on Christmas preparation.

So here's the list I worked on this week.

Sparkly

We went to the city late Friday night to view their Christmas decorations.  There were lots of pretty lights sparkling in the night,

Door

So many doors in town are beautifully decorated for the season but this one is neglected.  Nobody passes through this door.  Notice the wadded up piece of paper in place of a doorknob.

Decorate

As I said, there are lots of pretty doors in town and the wreath on this door caught my eye , sparkling in the sunshine.  It's so fitting for an old historic home in a seaside town which may have once been the home of a sea-faring captain.

Stripes

First thought was the stripes on a candy cane but I was at the beach one day photographing this broken fence and it said "stripes" to me.

Favorite Things

I could have posted dozens of pictures here but at this time of year the feeling of Christmas in this small seaside town is a favorite of mine.  We have a unique tree made from lobster traps.

So now it's time to get ready for Christmas but first go on over to Ashley's Scavenger Hunt and have a little fun.

  2. That decorate picture is so cool...I love it. And what I wouldn't give to be eating one of the lobsters caught in those traps. :) That door is really neat looking, too. Love your pictures....even if they do make me homesick!

  3. My fave shots are the first two. That old door reminds me of doors I saw in Cuba (well, without the bricks). I don't see anything that looks like River Rd...jus' sayin'. Good to SEE you.

  7. I love the red and green contrast and weathered look of the door picture. A lobster trap Christmas Tree, we don't see any of those in the mid-west. Thanks for sharing.

  9. I love your finds and interpretations, especially the fence. That first door has so much character... makes you wonder what stories it could tell if it could talk. :)

    Have a great week!
