Scavenger Hunt Sunday

While many rushed to the malls for Black Friday shopping I spent the day hunting down my photos for this week's scavenger hunt.

This week's list:

TREES

In my town there is a tree growing in a barn.  It all started hundreds of years ago when Lafayette visited here.  To mark the occasion a tree was planted and named the Lafayette Elm.  In 1855 the owner wanted to expand his barn but preserve the tree so he built around it leaving a hole in the middle so the tree could grow unimpeded.   The orignial barn was destroyed in the 1920's.

Years later the owner of the property moved a barn from a neighboring town board by board and rebuilt it in the same spot as the original barn.

Bubbles

While my dirty pans soaked in soap bubbles

I soaked myself in some bubbles.

I do love bubbles.

Couples

Time to put away the fall stuff and get ready for the winter decor.  I'm ahead of schedule this year.  Here's my favorite snaowman couple.

In the Kitchen

I haven't spent much time in the kitchen this weekend but I was in the Kitchen Store.  Here are a few items that caught my attention.  The hands are actually pepper mills.  Pretty cool!

Home

There is no place like home.

Thanks to Ashley for hosting Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

  1. Clever interpretations - love the bubble variety and the intriguing items in the kitchen store. The barn with the tree is interesting - once worked with a lady who had built her house around a tree. Oh, and the snowman couple - King and Queen - love 'em!

  3. Great pics, I especially loved the tree photo and the backstory. I always take my camera to kitchen stores, I also love your snow couple. My wife decorates in snow people also so we have them all over the house at Christmas. And your bubbles are great. Shoot, I love all your pics!
