Scavenger Hunt Sunday

This week's hunt proved to be extra challenging.  For me, ideas did not quickly pop into my mind and then there was the storm at the beginning of the week.  I was out of town for a good part of the week and had to find photo ops on unfamiliar turf.

First prompt was WILD.  With the weather this week the ocean was the wildest thing in my neighborhood.

#2 prompt is WELCOME and this Diner welcomes ladies to their establisjment.  It is the oldest diner in the state of Maine and has been operating at the same location since the 1920's.

You may have to wait for a seat since there are only 15 seats.

#3  ADVENTURE  -  this one had me stumped.  Weeks ago we had planned to spend a few days in the Pennsylvania mountains.  We were unsure about making the trip given weather conditions between home and there.  The 20 inches of snow on the mountain the day before we were to leave was a factor.  We decided to go and allowed some extra travelling time.  The trip was  smooth so with the extra time we travelled some back roads instead of highways.  This was our adventure.  You never know what you'll find.  We met this friendly bison along the way.

An unexpected stop along the way was the site of the Flight 93 Memorial, a somber but inspiring place to visit.

#4 VIBRANT -  which means full of energy, lively and vigorous.   We encountered a pretty lively groupat our mountaintop hotal participating in an event called Mud on the Mountain.  It was an obstacle course on the moutain which included climbing up the mountain , sliding down a wet icy slope, climbing back up the mountain and coming down in the mud.  At the start of this event it was less than 30 degrees outside.

Last prompt is CLASSIC. This home in my town was built over 125 years ago and exhibits classic Victorian architecture.

That's it for this week.

  1. Great set for the cues! Nothing readily came to my mind, either, and I got too busy and gave up. Yours are perfect - I love the shot of the ocean especially!

  6. Nice set this week Stephanie. I didn't go near the coast-though it offered good photo ops, I didn't want to get my camera wet. You were brave. Cool wooly cow shot. I like seeing your takes on the area. I've shot the Palace a couple times....the stools from almost the same angle.

  8. Great finds for the prompts. Somehow, I couldn't see the fun in that mountain adventure, but I guess it depends on point of view!

  11. You posted right after me at Ashley's so I thought I'd come visit my neighbor. The Victorian House alone was worth the trip, but I loved them all! I'm glad you had fun in my home state of PA!
