It's also ABC Wednesday and the letter is L. My entry is red and starts with L - Lobster.
I live in one of those
The most popular red you'll see in this town is the Lobster. Everyone who visits here has to try a lobster.
We had an over abundance of them this summer and every restaurant in town had lobster dinners on special.
The old wooden lobster traps have been replaced with a new metal trap.
Brightly colored buoys are used to mark lobster trap locations so the lobster fisherman can find his traps. Each lobster fisherman has his or her own color markings and registration numbers so they know which ones are theirs. They are only allowed to haul their own traps and must display their buoy color or license number on their boat so law enforcement officials know what they should be hauling.
Red is a popular color for the buoys. Bright colors help in finding them in foggy weather conditions.
The next time you are eating out and see Maine lobster on the menu, it just may have been brought in on one of these boats.
Check out the Reds in other towns at Walk and Click Wednesday.
Also posting to ABC WEDNESDAY because L is for Lovin' Lobster.
Lobster is a very favorite of mine. I try to order it when I go to New Orleans. I love al of the lobster decorations--really cool. Beautiful colors.

the contrast between the red barn and the drab buildings in front of it is striking.

ReplyDeleteSorry I missed out when there was a surplus of lobsters and the restaurants had special low prices. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou certainly found an abundance of red and you little town. Made me think I should have captured a nearby red barn too. I do love lobster. Too bad I don't live closer--I'd love to have some, especially on special! Thanks for joining Walk and Click Wednesdays, Stephanie!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great town for photos! Poor lobster on the roof smiling - guess he doesn't realize he's in a trap!
ReplyDeleteThe buoys look like Christmas decorations! Your colors are so bright and I just love, love, love the pumpkins and gourds picture!!! Desktop background art.
